PM announces special relief package for rain affectees in KP

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved Rs500,000 for the family of each deceased.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced a special relief package for the people affected by rains and storm in Peshawar, Charsadda and Nowshera, the Radio Pakistan reported. 

This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan during his visit to the affected areas of Peshawar.

The Governor said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved Rs500,000 for the family of each deceased and Rs50,000 for each injured.

The governor also visited Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and gave Rs50,000 to each injured on behalf of the Prime Minister.

He said the government will assist the people in rebuilding the infrastructure damaged by natural calamity.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak also visited Wahid Ghari area of Peshawar and expressed sympathies with the family whose seven members died in recent storm.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed to provide relief goods worth Rs20 million to rain-affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
