Chinese ship to evacuate 200 Pakistanis from Aden to Djibouti

Dunya News

A Chinese vessel docked in the southern Yemeni port of Aden to rescue people.

(Web Desk) – Another 200 Pakistani nationals still stuck in war-hit Yemen will be evacuated by a Chinese ship from Aden to Djibouti on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

While all arrangements were in place and the Pakistani nationals awaiting evacuation had their immigration in time, the Yemeni authorities have allotted a time slot for embarkation to the Chinese ship only for this morning.

According to Foreign Office, special PIA flight s landing in Djibouti will coincide with the arrival of the Chinese vessel there.

On the other hand, Pak Navy spokesperson said that a Pakistani vessel will leave for Mokallah on Thursday to rescue remaining people.

Reportedly, 45 Pakistani nationals are still stuck in a hospital in Sana’a.

With increased fighting and aerial bombing, the officials said they did not get permission for evacuating citizens stranded in Sana’a. Adding to logistical issues is the fact that Sana’a is land locked and there is no safe passage between Sana`a and Aden.

On Sunday, Yemeni fighters loyal to Saudi-backed President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi clashed with Iranian-allied Houthi fighters in downtown Aden, the absent leader s last major foothold in the country.
