Khurshid Shah demands APC for effective electoral reforms
Opposition leader said govt was not so focused on electoral reforms after the sit-in called off
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has on Monday demanded an All Parties Conference (APC) for making the electoral reforms more effective. He said that the government has lost its focus towards electoral reforms after the sit-in was called off, Dunya News reported.
In his letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Khurshid Shah congratulated the government for the formation of judicial commission. He stated in his letter that the forming of judicial commission was beneficial for the country.
However, Khurshid Shah expressed his grief over the government’s lack of focus on electoral reforms after calling off of the sit-in. He said that the consultations for electoral reforms should be done as soon as possible.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader warned that the Electoral Reforms Committee should complete its job and present the recommendations for legislation as soon as possible otherwise the people will think that the government wasn’t serious.
