Pakistan successfully test-fires cruise missile Ra'ad
Cruise missile Ra'ad's airframe is designed with stealth capability.
RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) - Pakistan on Monday successfully tested air-launched cruise missile (ALCM) Ra’ad with a range of 350 kilometers.
The missile gives Pakistan Air Force a strategic standoff capability on land and at sea. It has low detection probability due to stealth design and materials used in its construction.
Ra`ad, which means Thunder in Arabic, is a low altitude missile that has high maneuverability capabilities and can deliver nuclear and conventional warheads with pin-point accuracy.
The accuracy of the missile is reported to be comparable to Babur cruise missile.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistani scientists on successful launch of the new missile.
