He said he will ask the people for vote on the basis of performance.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Former president Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said that if he was Prime Minister, he would have invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to run the country because “it is not so easy”, Dunya News reported.

Gilani said that the parliament was weakened when an elected Prime Minister was ousted, alleging that the current setup has a major role in weakening the parliament.

He said the army has already given the clarification and that the politicians should now work to strengthen the parliament instead of further weakening the institutions.

Former prime minister said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) comes into power through people’s power and not through the backdoor and crutches.

He said he will ask the people for vote on the basis of performance.

Gilani said that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has entered the political battleground, adding that Bilawal will resume his mother Benazir Bhutto’s mission from where she left off from October 18.

Former PM said that it is up to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whether he wants the midterm election or not but in his opinion, Nawaz Sharif should complete his tenure.
