Police baton charge protesting nurses outside Punjab Assembly

One of the nurse tortured by police was pregnant.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Police on Friday used batons to disperse protesting young nurses outside the Punjab Assembly, Dunya News reported.

Young nurses continued their protest on the fifth consecutive day on Friday to press the government in favour of their demands.

The nurses were protesting to demand permanent jobs in the government hospitals across Punjab and approval for their service structure.

Several nurses were reportedly injured when police baton charged them outside the Punjab Assembly. 

One of the nurse tortured by police was pregnant, who was shifted to hospital in critical condition.

After the incident, nurses at Ganga Ram Hospital and Mayo Hospital have boycotted their duties.
