TTP, Punjabi Taliban welcome PM's dialogue proposal
Punjabi Taliban have expressed confidence on 4-member committee formed by PM to initiate dialogue.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Spokesperson Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Shahidullah Shahid has welcomed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s proposal to reinitiate the dialogue process. TTP said that they do not object over the members of the four-member committee formed by the Prime Minister in this regard.
TTP spokesperson said that the decision will be made after consultation with central Taliban leadership.
Meanwhile, Chief of Punjabi Taliban Asmatullah Muawiya also welcomed the Prime Minister’s proposal saying Punjabi Taliban trust prime minister and the members of the committee.
Muawiya said that Prime Minister has demonstrated seriousness by forming four-member committee in this regard.
Punjabi Taliban chief also expressed confidence over the members of the committee by saying the members of this committee are informed and veterans who will try to understand Taliban’s point of view.
Punjabi Taliban chief further said they will also express flexibility if government expressed more seriousness.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attended National Assembly’s session today and said that the government wants to give peace another chance and that peace negotiations with Taliban will be reinitiated. Opposition leader Khursheed Shah and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan also assured support.
