Malik granted exemption to appear in court in person
Accountability Court in Karachi has adjourned the hearing of Charcoal Contract Case against Interior Minister till February 12. He has been granted exemption to appear in the court in person. Lawyer of Rehman Malik presented intelligence report in the court, according to which five persons including the interior minister are at the hit-list of the terrorists. The court after hearing the arguments admitted the plea seeking exemption from appearing before the court in person. Rehman Malik was accused that he took advantage of his post as Additional Director FIA and got a contact of 50,000 metric ton charcoal from National Refinery for his brother-in-law in 1995. The next hearing of the NAB reference will be held on February 12. On the other hand, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said all the accused of Youm-e-Ashur bombing in Karachi have been arrested and being interrogated. Talking to media after appearing before Accountability Court in NAB reference on Saturday, Malik said Tehrik-e-Taliban, Jundullah and al-Qaida were involved in Karachi bomb attack.
