Allama Nasir Abbas buried in Multan
TNFJ Multan leader was gunned down near FC College in Lahore on Sunday night.
MULTAN (Web Desk) –Slain leader of Tehreek-e-Nifaz Fiqa Jaffaria (Multan) chapter Allama Nasir Abbas has been buried in Multan today (Tuesday).
A large number of people from different walks of life attended the funeral prayer.
The prominent Shia cleric was shot dead by uknown gunmen in Lahore late on Sunday night when he was going home in his car after a religious gathering.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility of the incident.
Allama Nasir Abbas’s murder case was registered against two unidentified motorcycle riders in the Garden Town police station. The case under terrorism and murder sections was registered on the complaint of Allama Nasir Abbas’s driver.
Earlier on Monday, members of Lahore s Shia community staged a sit-in outside the governor s house to express their rage.
Pakistan has witnessed a rising tide of sectarian violence in recent years with a number of attacks targeting Shias in south-western Balochistan province as well as the southern city of Karachi.
This killing comes 10 days after Shamsur Rahman, the leader of a Sunni organisation ASWJ was gunned down in Lahore.
