Govt evaluates option to declare GB fifth province: Mehdi Shah

Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah Wednesday said that a legal committee to evaluate the option of declaring Gilgit-Baltistan as fifth province of the country in the constitution.The first Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah visited Dunya News Head Office in Lahore and held meetings with CEO Mian Amir Mahmood and Managing Director Yousaf Baig Mirza and discussed various issues. Mehdi Shah said the nation will never forget the package announced for Gilgit-Baltistan by President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party led government. He told that first woman governor of Gilgit-Baltistan will be appointed in next seven to ten days. The chief minister maintained that several key business opportunities are present for investors in the area. Announcing to convene a business conference in Gilgit-Baltistan in near future, Mehdi Shah told that 50 different Memorandums of Understanding were signed during his visit to Lahore.
