Punjab Health Department has failed to control measles outbreak despite vaccination campaign.

LAHORE: Three more children who had been suffering from measles died in Lahore on Wednesday, taking the death toll in the current outbreak in Punjab to 96, Dunya News reported.

Two-year-old Haris, one-year-old Babar and two-year-old Zoya passed away in Lahore’s Children’s Hospital where they had been admitted for treatment.

According to hospital sources, the deceased were from Lahore and Sargodha.

The provincial government conducted a measles vaccination drive in Lahore earlier this month for children aged between six months and 10 years and immunised over 2.5 million. A vaccination campaign will now be launched on June 11 in 11 other high-risk districts.
