SHC orders immediate pay raise for lower judiciary

SHC has ordered provincial government to immediately increase pays of lower court judges and staff.

The Sindh High Courthas also directed the provincial government to issue a notification to this effect within five working days and file a reply.A divisional bench comprising Justice Maqbool Baqir and Justice Nisar A Sheikh heard the petition regarding pay raise in the salaries of lower courts judges and staff. The bench ordered the Finance Secretary to issue notification of raise in salaries of lower courts judges and staff within five days and present the same in the court.Raise in pays of lower court staff and judges in part of the National Judicial Policy, while other provinces have already raised pays in this regard.
