Skies over English Channel fill with 75 hot air balloons

The skies over the English Channel were filled with 75 hot air balloons as a fleet of balloonists took off from Kent, England crossing over the Dover Straight to Calais, France.Balloonists from across Europe came to join in the effort to set the world record for the largest number of hot air balloons to cross the English Channel. Hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes took to the air - the most distinctive, a huge dragon-shaped balloon with a glass-floored basket. The venture was organised by retired police officer Ian Sharpe, who has been ballooning for eight years, with the help of Steve Richards, the Director of Airborne Balloon Flights.
