Street crimes proliferating unabated in Karachi despite operation
More than 5000 mobile phones have been snatched from locals in first four months of current year.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The criminal activities in Karachi have continued to prevail despite several claims of provincial government, reported on Tuesday.
Karachi’s street crime problem is getting out of hand with the situation worsening with every passing day.
According to details, more than 5000 mobile phones have been snatched from the locals in first four months of current year whereas East Zone’s Ferozabad has been listed on the top in such activities.
Police personnel said that robbers looting masses at specific main roads, parks and other public spots is usual, in a wake of which motorcycle teams have been formed to take action against the culprits.
New Town, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar and Darakshan have been declared centre of street crimes where local officers have failed to safe the natives.
According to statistics gathered by Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), as many as 5,513 mobile phones have been snatched from the residents from January 1 to April 30 while more than 6,000 were reportedly robbed.
On the other hand, law enforcement agencies’ operation is underway in the city but it is not giving any positive outcomes regarding street crimes.
