Rohit Sharma hits highest ODI score

Dunya News

Sharma's record-breaking innings included 33 fours and nine sixes

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Indian international cricketer Rohit Sharma has bagged highest ever One-Day-International (ODI) score by any batsman making 264 runs on 173 balls against Sri Lanka.

Right-hand batsman Sharma made 264 runs which is the highest ODI score ever on just 173 balls against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday.

Sharma’s record-breaking innings included 33 fours and nine sixes.

Before him, no player in the history of ODI had ever crossed 250 runs mark in single innings.

Sri Lankan bowling seemed helpless against Sharma’s terrific batting. He also had made a double century earlier against Australia.

He played a memorable innings of 209 runs using 158 balls against Australia and it was the third double century in the history of ODI cricket.

Before this, legends of international cricket, Virender Sehwag and ‘master-blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar had played 200 runs innings each.
