Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves reach historic high $20 billion
Foreign exchange reserves in Pakistan have swelled to the highest in history of the country
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Pakistan foreign exchange reserves have on Thursday reached the all-time high 20 billion US dollars, reported Dunya News.
According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan have reached 20 billion dollars, out of which the central bank possesses over 15 billion dollars while Rs. 4.80 billion dollars are held in other accounts.
The SBP news release informed that Pakistan’s reserves have swelled by USD 1.70 billion, out of which USD 500 million were provided to Pakistan by International Monetary Fund (IMF) as an installment under its economic stability program. USD 500 million was raised by selling bonds internationally and USD 376 million was received under Coalition Support Fund.
