WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - US President Donald Trump has described Pakistan as a great country and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal as ‘outstanding personalities.’

Speaking to journalists in Washington, Donald Trump praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East. Trump thanked Pakistan, calling it a “great nation,” and commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal for their role in facilitating US-Iran peace negotiations.

Trump also commented on tensions involving Iran, saying Tehran should not have targeted American naval vessels. He claimed Iranian forces launched missile and drone attacks against US ships.

The US president stated that Iran’s first regime had ended and that a second regime had become nearly ineffective, adding that Washington was now dealing with a third regime.

Trump further claimed that Iran would soon sign an agreement, reiterating that Tehran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

Earlier, in a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump claimed Iranian drones and small boats had been destroyed in the Strait of Hormuz, while American warships passed through the strategic waterway without sustaining damage.

He also said that three US destroyers remained unharmed despite alleged attacks involving drones and small boats. According to Trump, American warships were rejoining naval blockade operations, warning that “much harsher action” would follow if Iran refused to reach an agreement.
