TEXAS (Web Desk) - A 23-year-old British-origin woman, Lucy Harrison, was fatally shot in the United States following what authorities described as a heated argument with her father.

According to US media reports, the incident occurred on January 10 in Texas. Disturbing details emerged during court proceedings related to the case.

The court was told that on the day of the incident, Lucy and her father became involved in a heated discussion concerning US President Donald Trump.

Evidence presented during the hearing revealed that Lucy had traveled from London to the United States with her boyfriend, Sam Littler, to spend the holidays.

In his testimony, Littler said the argument between father and daughter escalated in the morning during a discussion about Trump.

He told the court that Lucy asked her father how he would feel if she were a victim of sexual assault.

According to the boyfriend, the father allegedly responded that he had two other daughters and therefore would not feel as devastated.

The remark reportedly left Lucy deeply upset, and she went upstairs.

Approximately 30 minutes before leaving for the airport later that day, her father, Chris Harrison, allegedly took Lucy into a downstairs bedroom to show her his Glock 9mm pistol.

Littler testified that moments later, he heard a gunshot from the room. When he rushed inside, he found Lucy lying on the floor while her father was screaming in panic.

In a written statement submitted to the court, Chris Harrison claimed that he and his daughter had been watching a news report about gun crime at the time.

He said the firearm discharged suddenly while he was showing it to her and that he could not recall whether his finger was on the trigger.

Harrison also admitted he had struggled with alcohol abuse in the past and had resumed drinking on the day of the incident due to emotional distress.

A police officer testified that Harrison smelled of alcohol when officers arrived at the scene. Surveillance footage later showed him purchasing alcohol.
