Al Qaeda militants capture a town near the Yemeni capital of Sanaa.

Al Qaeda militants have seized this small town of Radda, 105 miles from the Yemeni capital.The militants met little resistance from the small police force as they captured the mosque and ancient citadel.This provides another setback to efforts to restore order after Yemens president handed power to his deputy after mass protests.Residents said militants were led by Tareq al-Dahab, who had been handed over to Yemen by Syria after he was detained trying to slip into Iraq.Radda expands al Qaedas control outside of the southern province of Abyan, where they have taken over several towns since the uprisings against the president began.
