(Web Desk) - A man from Chennai has built a Taj Mahal-inspired memorial house in memory of his late mother.
The total cost of the construction was 50 million rupees. Amruddin Sheikh Dawood, a businessman from Chennai, created a house resembling a mini version of the Taj Mahal in Ammaiyappan near Tiruvarur.
This heartfelt gesture was dedicated to his mother, Jailani Biwi, who had single-handedly taken care of the entire family after the death of his father, Abdul Qauder. She managed Abdul's hardware business and raised four daughters and a son.
Sadly, she passed away prematurely, leaving her son deeply saddened. In honour of her memory, he built a Taj Mahal-shaped house as a memorial.
The journey began approximately two years ago when Amruddin sourced marble from Rajasthan to construct the iconic minarets of the house. The construction was completed on June 2, 2023.
This news follows a similar incident two years ago when an Indian businessman built a replica of the Taj Mahal for his wife.
It has been reported that a Madrassa currently operates on the property, accommodating ten pupils. The gates of the "mini" Taj Mahal are open to people of all religions and faiths. Amruddin Sheikh Dawood also attempts to fill the void left by his mother's passing by serving Biryani to a thousand people every new moon since she passed away on the day just after Amavasya.
