19 killed in Afghan governors compound attack

At least 19 people were killed and 30 injured in suicide attack on an Afghan governor's compound.

Parwan provincial governor Abdul Basir Salangi informed that six suicide bombers have attacked his compound in eastern Afghanistan.He said several people have been killed in Sundays coordinated attack on the walled compound in the city of Charikar, northeast of Kabul.Salangi says the attack occurred during a provincial security meeting. He does not know the precise death toll so far.Witnesses say they heard at least five explosions near the palace and that fighting is ongoing.Witnesses say that 19 people, most of them civilians, were killed and more than 30 others wounded in a suicide and gun attack.Meanwhile, interior ministry spokesman Siddiq Siddiqi said that 14 civilians and five police had been killed with 37 people, mostly civilians, injured.
