Meera Shankar is likely to take over the responsibilities as the Indian Foreign secretary.

Indian Foreign secretary Nirupama Rao is likely to replace Meera Shankar as the next Indian ambassador to the United States when her tenure ends in July 31, 2011.According to reports, Meera Shankar would take over the responsibilities as the Indian Foreign secretary but no official announcement has been made.On the other hand, Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna said that talks would be held on all outstanding issues with Pakistan. Krishna also said that a lot should not be expected out of the talks.The two day foreign secretary-level talks between Pakistan and India will be held in Islamabad today. Krishna said that all issues including terrorism would be discussed in the talks.
