The United Nations chief says the Syrian government is committing grave human rights violations.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has once again called on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to allow humanitarian access to the country, calling deadly government attacks on protesters demanding democracy, horrific.Ban made the comments while in Argentina after meeting with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez.Talking to the media, Ban Ki-moon said that the Syrian government was committing grave violations of human rights by launching crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.On the other hand, an opposition spokesman has claimed that 1,300 people have been killed in the violent protests so far and 10,000 are arrested by the government.
