New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi briefly detained

Gandhi was arrested for joining a farmers protest in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Gandhi, the leader of ruling Congress party, was arrested when he joined the farmers protest in a village in Uttar Pradesh.The farmers alleged that their land was being obtained forcibly for the construction of a motorway.Local police said that Raul had been into protective custody. Rahul, the grandson of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, is seen as the future prime minister of India.
