India allow cricket team to play in Pakistan, says Indian foreign secretary.

Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said that India was looking to promote cricketing ties with Pakistan and to become an instrument of diplomacy.She said that Indian team would visit Pakistan. She stated that the government allowed the team to play in Pakistan but the Pakistan would assure provision of proper security to the team.She said that cricket could prove useful in creating diplomatic relations between two nations. She stated that India had never forbidden its teams from going to Pakistan, but security was always an issue.
