Thousands of Palestinians rally for unity

Tens of thousands of Palestinians answered a rallying call on internet to demonstrate in Gaza.

The rally, organised by youth groups called for reconciliation between Hamas and President Mahmoud Abbass rival Fatah group. Officials say close to 100,000 protesters came out for the rally which led to street clashes. It was the first time Hamass authority was challenged in such a public manner since it took control of Gaza in 2007.
