Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh visited an injured governor in a military hospital in the capital Sanaa on Monday.A man stabbed Governor Naji Ali al Zaidi in the neck, critically injuring him as he and police tried to break up a crowd of thousands at a sit-in outside the local government headquarters. The attack took place in central Marib province, where several oil and gas fields of international companies are located.Violent clashes have broken out across Yemen as nationwide protests demand for the resignation of President Salehs 32-year grip on power. Military forces deployed to quell demonstrations appear to resort increasingly to violence in the struggle. Seven demonstrators and three soldiers have died in clashes since Saturday, raising the death toll from unrest above 30.
