Mattis warned: "If you challenge us, it will be your longest and worst day."

(Web Desk) – United States (US) defense secretary James Mattis has said on Friday that the States deems strategic competition with Russia and China more urgent that terrorism after the country shifted its focus after 9/11 attacks.

Mattis said that US president Donald Trump wishes to cut foreign aids and other funds to boost defence budget by at least ten percent.

In a reference dubbed as to Russia, Mattis warned: "If you challenge us, it will be your longest and worst day.”

In a media interaction in US capital DC, the defence secretary urged lawmakers to avoid cuts to the federal budget and help fund the military.
