The decision of shutting social media accounts is in line with her changing status after she marries Britian’s Prince Harry in May and will become a member of the royal family. Some senior members of the royal family have official social media accounts run by the social media team of their households, which do not feature personal tweets or posts.

Markle will come under Kensington Palace after her wedding and social media postings will be made on her behalf by the communications staff.

In December 2017 after her engagement announcement to Prince Harry, Markle the US actress had 1.9 million people following her posts on Instagram, and more than 350,000 Twitter followers and her official Facebook page had almost 800,000 likes, reported the Independent. Her social media accounts became the centre of attention after her relationship with Prince Harry was made official.
