At least 14 people have died and more than 30 have been injured in an act of terror in the Iraqi city Tikrit. A suicide bomber wearing a vest filled with explosives attacked a crowd of Iraqi police recruits today in Tikrit. Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar, the deputy governor of Salahuddin province, said he did not know how many people were wounded in the attack, which took place outside a police recruitment centre where Iraqi men were queuing up with their documents. The initial death toll we have now is 14, he said. A police source in the city, north of Baghdad, said more than 300 people were outside the building at the time of the attack, in which more than 30 people were wounded.
