SRINAGAR (Dunya News) - Hurriyet leaders on Tuesday have extended the protest call in occupied Kashmir till November 3.

Normal life remained affected in the strife-torn valley for the 116th consecutive day, today, due to the shutdown against the civilian killings.

Shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the road.

Forces’ personnel have been deployed in strength in markets and along the main roads.

All routes leading to historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, remained closed and a large number of forces’ personnel remained deployed to prevent people from entering the area.

Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the killing of civilian people by Indian armed forces is a part of a well-planned strategy of the Indian authorities.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement urged the global forums to resolve the Kashmir dispute to avert escalation of tension between Pakistan and India.

Hospital record says that over 1631 civilians have been hit in face with pellets by Indian armed forces during the 115 days of uprising, with 1,100 of them having injuries in eyes.

Indian violence in the occupied valley has killed more than 100 Kashmiris and injured over 14,000 locals since the uprising that was triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani by Indian forces on July 8.

Moreover, at least 9000 Kashmiris have been detained during the three-month crackdown.
