Al-Qaedas base in Iraq has been dismantled: Mullen
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen said Al-Qaedas power base in Iraq has been broken by a lack of funds and a power vacuum at the top.Mullen expressed his thoughts during a brief interview where he said that suicide attacks have been significantly reduced. He said that it would be a greater challenge for Al-Qaeda to regroup itself now in Iraq. Mullen believes that Iraq will be able to handle anything that the newly reduced al-Qaida may throw at them when the US military leaves in 2011.
