Eco-sensitive zone case: Residents warn to protest against state government

DEHARDUN (Web Desk) – Residents from 86 villages of Gangotri on Monday have warned the state government to stage an agitation protest for not hearing the case of eco-sensitive zone of about 100 km beyond Uttarkashi to Gaumukh.
The villagers showed their anger on the case as Centre promised to fulfill their demands by taking the locals into confidence within two years but unfortunately no action has been taken so far. Residents complaint that the area should be left alone and there should be no interference of government to carry out construction activity.
A written report has been made on this issue that stated that after two years of notification, the plan will be implemented by the consent of locals and ministry of environment and forest.
