Eight killed in Nepal accident

KATMANDU (AP) A police official says at least eight people were killed and nine more injured when a passenger van skidded off a rural mountain road in western Nepal.
Police official Shyam Krishna Adhikari said the driver of the overcrowded van lost control near Lekhaphat village and rolled several meters (feet) from the mountain road.
The gravel road linking villages in the area is narrow and slippery, he said.
The driver was among those killed in the accident.
