State TV says trial in the mountain town of Zintan has been postponed to December 12.

TRIPOLI (AP) Libyan state TV says the trial of the son of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi on charges of "harming state security" has been postponed, after he showed up in a courtroom in a western mountain town.

The Thursday session in Zintan involving Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, the only surviving son of Gadhafi held in Libyan custody, is separate from proceedings accusing him of murder and other crimes during Libya s eight-month civil war in 2011. Those proceedings are supposed to be held in the capital, Tripoli.

The country s prosecutor general told reporters Wednesday that Thursday s session would only present charges, not start the trial. Along with Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, 37, other former regime members face similar charges.
