Ecuador has dismantled one of the largest international drug trafficking networks operating in its territory, police said. In the operation police said they arrested several including two soldiers, and seized at least four tons of drugs. The network, composed of Ecuador and Colombia, operated in cities across the country and had facilities to process, store and transport large shipments of cocaine hydrochloride to the United States. During the raid, police also dismantled a huge laboratory that operated in the center of the country which had the capacity to process some five tons of cocaine a week. Seven people were arrested, including two Colombians and five Ecuadorians. The ring operated in Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
