One person died and 21 others were injured when the Amritsar-Katihar-AmrapaIi Express derailed in Khagaria district of India's eastern Bihar state on Thursday. The actual cause of the train mishap is not yet known, but the officials attribute to damage in tracks because of heavy rains. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Puran Singh, a resident of Chainpur village in Purulia district of the state. The mishap has hit the traffic on the line and around five passenger trains have been cancelled. Besides, route of 15 trains has been diverted.
