Syrian rebels on Wednesday gave President Bashar al-Assad a 48-hour deadline to abide by an international peace plan to end violence or face consequences, a rebel spokesman said.Colonel Qassim Saadeddine said in a statement posted on YouTube: We announce that there is no justification to continue respecting the truce from one side. The joint command of the free army inside Syria, which includes all military councils with brigades and units in different governorates, issues an ultimatum of 48 hours to respect the UN Security Council resolution and international legitimacy immediately by ending all forms of violence, as well as pulling out tanks and military vehicles from towns and villages and allowing the entrance of humantiarian aid.He said the deadline would end on Friday (June 1) at 1200 local time (0900gmt).
