Blast kills 2 policemen in Iraq

Iraqi officials say a roadside bomb has killed two policemen northwest of Baghdad.

Two police officials say the blast struck a passing police patrol Saturday afternoon near the town of Tal Afar, 420 kilometers (260 miles) northwest of the capital. Three other policemen were wounded in the explosion.The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.Insurgents frequently launch attacks on the Iraqi police and military in an attempt to shake the peoples confidence in the security forces.
