A car bomb exploded outside a police barracks in the northern Spanish city of Burgos, injuring dozens of people. The car bomb left a crater outside the 14-storey police barracks in Burgos. The attack has been blamed on the Basque separatist group ETA. ETA is held responsible for over 800 killings in the past 40 years in a bloody campaign for an independent Basque homeland in northern Spain and southern France. It often uses car bombs, usually parked outside police and army barracks.
