Ireland's 97-year-old becomes Europe's oldest parkrunner

(Web Desk) - Northern Ireland’s 97-year-old Grace Chambers has become Europe’s oldest parkrunner by completing her 250th parkrun milestone.

Grace achieved this feat by completing a five-thousand-meter race at Ormeau Park in South Belfast.

The elderly woman underwent heart surgery just four weeks prior. However, this medical complication could not stop her from participating in the weekly Saturday race.

Upon completing the run, Grace said she was delighted to have done it because there were possibilities that she might not have been able to.

She never looks at things negatively, and if she doesn’t succeed the first time, she tries again and again.
