(Web Desk) - Death can come anywhere at any time, and no one has ever succeeded in preventing it.

However, there is one place where the government has imposed a ban on dying.

This unique location is Longyearbyen, an island in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic region, where dying is genuinely prohibited.

The reason lies in the island’s extremely cold climate, which prevents buried bodies from decomposing. Instead, they remain preserved in a frozen state for decades.

Research in the 1930s revealed that old viruses in these preserved bodies could remain alive and potentially spread diseases to humans again.

Consequently, in the 1950s, a law was enacted prohibiting burials in Longyearbyen. If someone is seriously ill or nearing death, they are transferred to mainland Norway or another location.

This place is also famous for its unique natural phenomenon: the sun doesn’t rise for six months and doesn’t set for the other six months.
