14 cows killed after train hits them

Danish police say a passenger train has plowed through a group of cows wandering on the tracks.

Police spokesman Thomas Kristensen said no one in the train was injured in the Sunday accident in western Denmark.The train service in the area has been suspended for several hours.Kristensen said that five cows died instantly from the collision, while nine more had to be put down by a veterinarian.Police believe part of the fencing designed to keep the cows in their grazing area fell into disrepair.
