Xiaomi unveils ultra affordable flagship Redmi K40 series
(Web Desk) - Xiaomi has unveiled the latest Redmi flagship series at ultra affordable prices with class-leading performance.
The three K40 phones share the same Samsung-made AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 360 Hz touch sampling rate.
The regular K40 uses Qualcomm’s second best processor Snapdragon 870 while the K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ use the latest and greatest Snapdragon 888.
Another difference is the camera – the K40 Pro+ is equipped with a 108 MP sensor in its main camera, the Pro gets a 64 MP sensor instead and the vanilla has to settle for a 48 MP sensor.
The Samsung-made AMOLED panel in all three phones comes with 1080 x 2400 resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, HDR10+ and peak brightness of 1300+ nits. All three models are powered by a 4,520 mAh battery which charges at 33W, going from 0-100% in just 52 minutes.
The phones have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certifications, but no headphone jack. They come with an IP53 rating, meaning they have solid dust resistance and can survive sprays of water.
The regular Redmi K40 is available for RMB 2,000 or USD 310 for the 6/128 GB model while the Redmi K40 Pro starts at RMB 2,800 or USD 435 for the 6/128 GB model.
The Redmi K40 Pro+ is available in only one configuration with 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage and costs RMB 3,700 or USD 575.
