The robots are displayed at Scientific Research Achievements Exhibition in Beijing.

Various kinds of robots developed and manufactured in China appear as one of the most eye-catching items at the Scientific Research Achievements Exhibition which opened in Beijing.As the results of a major national development program, most of the robots shown at the exhibition are developed by university students from across the country. Among them as the one used for detection and reconnaissance, robot manipulators for assembly lines and one made with bionic theories that can get up a wall just like a gecko.Achievements in the field of sciences and technologies could be owned to the impressive progress in the fast development of chips, the core of IT technologies, during Chinas 11th Five-Year Plan that closed on 2010.Weve managed to bring the total development costs for such pivotal equipment as this plasma silicon etching machine from some five to eight million US dollars down to just four million dollars, said Ye Tianchun, Head of Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. This is the first time that such high-end integrated circuits manufacturing equipment made in China are ready to be marketed. So, its a real breakthrough, Ye added.
