Source end of the power cable might have USB Type A ports for connectivity with Macs

(Web Desk) – Apple is going to ditch lightning port charging in iPhone 8 for a USB Type C port, Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.


Smart lightning ports of Apple (L) were well received in the market however, Type C-USBs (R) have a wider application 


According to a report published in Wall Street Journal confirmed the rumours that have been doing rounds at tech platforms for quite some time now.

Lightning ports were first introduced in the handsets by Apple with iPhone 5. USB Type C ports are being widely used in the mobile phone markets around the globe. Apple equipped its Macbooks with the same connecting port for power charging.

Reportedly, Apple also is going to drop USB Type A port at the source end of the power cable with USB Type C port to enable the customers to charge their handsets using Macbooks.
