Al-Shifa Trust treated 38000 eye patients

Director Al-Shifa Trust says his mission is provision of help to the needy on humanitarian basis.
RAWALPINDI (Online): Col Tariq Usman said that the Trust had treated over 38000 poor and needy eye patients during the last four months under community outreach programme.
He said that the trust had installed 64 free eye campuses in the far-flung areas to facilitate the poor and poverty-trodden masses of the country.
Usman said that the free camps were organized in Kashmir Azad Pattan and Tehlian Palandri, Jalozai Nowshera KP, Punjab at Shamasabad, Domail, Jand, Attock, Malluwali, Lehar Sultanpur Chakwal, Naseera Tehsil Kharian, Jatli Gujar khan, Chak 36 and Chak 101 Sargodha, Bhera, Chamra Kalar Kahar, Malkair Hari Pur, khohar Sarai Alam Geer, Kokal village of Havelian and in the far-flung areas of Sindh.
“Over 2000 patients were referred to Al-Shifa Trust eye hospital Rawalpindi for subspecialty clinics and further checkups. This is the record highest number of Patients treated in four months time span”, he added.
Director of Al-Shifa eye trust said that such camps had not only increased awareness among the masses but also shortened distance that was stopping poor and needy people from getting quality eye treatment.
He said that the hospital had increased the number of free eye camps keeping in view the number of increasing eye patients in the country.
