Romario arrested for not paying alimony

Romario was arrested by authorities on Tuesday afternoon after he failed to make over 32,000 in child support payments.The former Barcelona star, who spent the night in jail, reportedly ignored to make alimony payments to his first wife, Monica Santoro.It is believed that he could be jailed for up to 30 days if he fails to make the ordered payments.In 2004, Romario, one of Brazils 1994 World Cup champions, was detained for the same reason, but was released in a few hours after proving he had paid his wife.Romario, 43, had two of his six children with Santoro before they separated in 1995.
