The New York Rangers skate past the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 in preview of next weeks Winter Classic outdoor game.Marian Gaborik netted the game winning goal and Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves to lift the New York Rangers to a 4-2 defeat of the Philadelphia Flyers Friday night in a preview of the upcoming Winter Classic.Gaborik staked the Rangers to a 3-0 lead 1:48 into the third period after taking a long pass from Anton Stralman and then beating Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov on a breakaway for his 21st goal of the season.The Flyers refused to go quietly and took advantage of a Rangers penalty when defenseman Andrej Meszaros scored on the ensuing power play with 9:39 left cut the lead to 3-1.Ryan Callahan put New York back up by three goals when he scored his 13th of the year on the power play just under four minutes later for a 4-1 lead.Philadelphias James Van Riemsdyk added a late goal to make it 4-2 but it wouldnt be enough as Lundqvist and the Rangers (21-8-4 46 points) held on for the win and moved into a tie for first place with Flyers (21-9-4 46 points) in the Atlantic division.The two rivals will meet again on January 2 in this seasons edition of the popular Winter Classic outdoor game, taking place at a temporary rink built at Citizens Bank Park where the Major League Baseball Philadelphia Phillies play.
