He is suffering from right knee injury
(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has been ruled out of ongoing Asia Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, due to knee injury.
He was pointed to participate in the Javelin Throw event tomorrow (Oct 4), but MRI test revealed he was carrying an injury on right knee.
Pakistan’s Chief de Mission for Asian Games has also confirmed the development, saying the athlete had complained about the pain after reaching China.
His withdrawal from the games has served a big blow to Pakistan's chances to win another medal in the regional event.
Mr Nadeem, who earlier this year won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championship, also shared a video message on X, asking people to pray for his speedy recovery so he could perform in upcoming events.
